Snowball Lodge is rated as a 3* facility by Quality in Tourism, who state that “the hostel is well presented and well run”. Originally built over 40 years ago it is subject to a rolling program of refurbishments and improvement.
The self-contained single storey building has wheelchair access, double glazing and central heating, and is available to book all year round. There are sleeping quarters for up to 39 people, two dormitories each sleep 12, three smaller rooms each sleep 4, disabled facilities for 3 people, and separate male and female toilet and shower facilities. Visitors do need to bring their own sleeping bags, but blankets are available for issue if requested.
It has a well equipped kitchen with cooking utensils, cutlery, and crockery provided. There is a large activity/dining/meeting hall, a breakout/leaders common room, data projectors and screens are available for visitors to use. There is also a drying room, and a coin operated telephone is provided (01904 400300).
Snowball Lodge provides a base for field trips and other group activities on a day, evening or residential basis in a rural woodland environment.

All of the Snowball Plantation facilities can be booked for a single evening, a weekend or for longer.
